Second Shirt Finished!

I did it!

It's finally complete!

I struggled and labored over this shirt for what seemed like forever, but I finally finished it.

Defeating the Perils of Online Shopping

I like to buy clothes online.

I don't have to leave the house.

I don't have to deal with the crowds of teenagers at the mall.

I can easily see all of the clothes a store has to offer.

And I oftentimes get awesome discounts emailed to me that make it worth it to buy online.

But there's a problem with online shopping.

A dark side to this otherwise beautiful invention.

While the boyfriend's away...

the Gabs will.... sew....

The boyfriend had an extra anatomy lab from 6 - 8 pm this evening.

Meaning he was gone from 5:30 - 9 pm.

I got bored after about the first half hour of his absence, considering I had already been at home all day by myself and had pretty much exhausted the tv watching and internet browsing for one day.

I ended up going through the patterns, books, and magazines that I have lying around and found this pattern.

More Patterns

Well the rest of the patterns I ordered from Simplicity arrived today.

So I rushed my little booty online and ordered these:

Sewing Machine Arrival!

It came! It came! It came!

My new sewing machine arrived yesterday by FedEx at 4:00 pm!

It was the longest, most excruciating wait for any package, ever.

The FedEx man usually arrives from 11 am to 1 pm, so I was rather concerned and getting antsy when my dear, sweet sewing machine had not yet arrived.

But, finally, she came.

In a pretty box, with all of her pieces, 10 fingers and 10 toes - haha.

Decisions, decisions

So it looks like I have to survive until the 31st without a sewing machine - if it arrives on time.

I've been busy reading sewing magazines, books, and studying patterns in preparation for the big day.

I've gathered up a few patterns that I think will be good to start off on because, let's face it, I'm more than a little bit rusty and I'll have to get the hang of using my new sewing machine.

The contenders for my beginning projects are as follows....

In the beginning...

...God created crafty people.

Eve was a complete seamstress from the beginning - gaining knowledge just so that she could learn how to make clothes. It's admirable, really.
